Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Assoc. Dr. Tahir Büyükakın, Balkan Turks Culture and Solidarity Association Chairman Vice Chairman Sukru Ar and members of the board met. Together with the Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, stakeholders exchanged views on the 30. 30th Anniversary Activities of 1989 Forced Migration from Bulgaria ’to be held in Kocaeli on 21-22 September 2019. In this ancient geography for nearly a thousand years, Istanbul as a nation that governs for 566 years, expressed their responsibility to the President Büyükakın voicing, “The center of human conscience, especially in Anatolia, our heartfelt geography, Kocaeli, we will all together,” he said.

The event, which will be held on September 21-22, 2019 in Kocaeli, was supported by the Presidency of Turks Abroad and Relative Communities. It is also emphasized that it is a stakeholder. On the first day of the two-day event, President Büyükakın was informed that there will be an open session where academicians from abroad will discuss the different aspects of the 1989 Bulgarian migration.

Dr. Bayram Çolakoğlu, Assoc. Dr. Ayhan Orhan, Deputy Chairman of the Association of Culture and Solidarity of the Balkan Turks Selahattin Aydın and Deputy Secretary General Yeşim Armağan Aslan also participated in the meeting. Tahir Büyükakın said, “If Sarajevo rejoices, we rejoice. If he laughs, we laugh. Pristina, if Skopje is happy, we will be happy. Balkans restless, lonely and unhappy we will work very hard here, “he said. The visit ended after a mutual exchange of views.
